Thanks again so much for your hand in our wonderful, memorable holiday. We adored your lovely home, the handsome property and glorious gardens . We loved the picturesque countryside and the real agricultural backbone of the environs. We also very much enjoyed our visits to Celle, Citta, Citerna, Monterchi, Anghiari, Sansepolcro and Assisi. The lack of crowds and the ability to enjoy the art and architecture in an intimate fashion were a real treat --- especially after the madness of Rome.

"What an exquisite house, so lovoingly created, from the beautiful bedrooms to the spacious kitchen, the library of interesting books and the piano which we played rather badly
We spent a lot of time by the pool gazing at the views and enjoying the tranquility.

Our stay at Casa Sant'Anna
My friends and I have just returned from two wonderful weeks at Casa Sant'anna and were so captivated by the house and its location that I felt impelled to write this review in order to encourage others to visit this magical place. We arrived at Casa Sant'anna on a sunny Saturday afternoon in mid August 2011 having left behind the stresses of our working lives in London only the day before and we very quickly began to feel relaxed and far removed from that hectic world in those beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The villa is set among the green hills, olive groves and vineyards of Umbria and the exquisite views from the house, its terraces and gardens will be a lasting memory.
The house itself is outstanding - very beautifully designed by the architect who has transformed a typical umbrian country house into a superbly crafted individual residence, full of light and
air, completely at ease with its surroundings while providing all the luxuries of modern living. No expense has been spared by the owner in the furnishing of the house and the many antiques and art
works were an ongoing source of interest. The beautiful grand piano was a particular treasure and one of our group, who is an accomplished pianist, thought it was a wonderful instrument and enjoyed
serenading us with the Italian classics while we relaxed with a glass of wine and a novel on the terraces. It really felt that we were living in a beautiful Italian home, rather than simply being on
holiday.
The location is wonderful and gives the feeling of being alone overlooking the umbrian hills within the beautifully landscaped gardens. You can't even see the owner's converted chapel a little way
down the lane but it is lovely to know that she is there and always ready to give that precious insider knowledge, if asked, on the best places to eat, shop or park in the local towns. The location
is also excellent as, while very private, it is not isolated and is very accessible to all the hill top towns of both Tuscany and Umbria.
Evenings were often spent at the villa with relaxing meals taken on the terrace, several of which were expertly prepared by the wonderful local cook. We will never forget swimming in the black
bottomed pool with the moon and stars reflecting in the water. On the evenings we tore ouselves away from the terrace the local restaurants at only 10/15 minutes away were superb.
It was an amazing holiday at a very reasonable price for a villa of this calibre. We will be back soon!

A Retreat for Sore Eyes
"Wow" was the first thought as we approached the entrance to our home for the next week. The glorious views across Umbrian hilltops in the distance, only unrudely interrupted by the tops of Olive trees, was a sight for the sorest of eyes. It was Autumn time but were welcomed with a sunny clear blue sky as the backdrop to this amazing vista.
The House itself continued the wow factor starting from the portico entrance through the luxuriously appointed reception hall filled with tasteful antiques, the stone staircase, past the formal, open dining room & onto the large kitchen & breakfast area.
The pictures do not lie, this ex farmhouse has been exquisitely renovated to the highest standard with luxurious furnishings, contemporary 'Italian' bathrooms & designer kitchen. Indeed, on arrival I noticed a red metallic piece of furniture in the kitchen & thought this was the 'Ferrari' equivalent of a Coca-Cola vending machine but turned out to be a multifuel burner (rather disappointingly) but was most welcome to warm the evenings at this time of year.
The fine weather enabled us to even help the proprietor of the house, Carole, with the olive harvest, November being the time to pick them. This proved to be relatively easy as most of the branches were at ground level. After a little practice with some of us looking too much like Margo Ledbetter picking beans, we soon speeded up & found a method much like milking a cow, squeezing each branch & pulling in a downward motion thus relieving it of it's bounty without a murmur from it's owner.
Venturing out you will find spectacular countryside, towns & villages offering a variety of castellans, shops & eateries. Recommended is the Pieve Vecchia restaurant in the nearby village of Monterchi. Further a field, in Sansepolcro is Ghignoni's, officially 'The Best Ice Cream Maker in Italy' where there's a mind boggling variety available (top tip, take smaller eyes in proportion to your belly & a spare car as you will need more room to 'spread' into after indulging in your most fab flavour(s)).
A trip to Anghiari, a superbly preserved walled city nestling in the foothills of the Tiber valley, is a must, just to take in the heritage, museums & street cafes whilst admiring the breathtaking views of the valley itself. There are many more sights including Assisi & Florence that we missed but that will have to wait upon return, perhaps in the Spring or Summer & definitely for longer!

Last year i rented this property between the 21st to 28th may 2011
I rented it with two colleagues who are also in the gardening business.
I was stunned! by the beauty of the antique roses in flower and the perfume pervaded the house when the doors and windows were open.
We were impressed with the standard of the house and the service that was given. The views were magnificient and the pool was beautiful to look at; it even reflected the moon.
I absolutely recommended this property.
I'm thinking to go back
Again this summer, this time I will go 2 weeks as one week is not enough to enjoy the house and the area
There are great restaurants in the area and wonderful walks.
A beauty to be discover!
Thanks
Joaquin
